PRISM Express

Many people in our local community cannot access safe and affordable transportation. PRISM Express offers area residents reliable, friendly, door-to-door transportation, allowing them to continue to enjoy independent living.

PRISM is pleased to provide you with the 2010—2011 edition of our Specialized Transportation Service Directory for Hennepin, Ramsey, and Wright Counties. We publish this with the support of local communities and funded under contract with the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (MAAA) as part of the Older Americans Act Program. This directory describes over forty (40) geographically grouped human services transportation programs and public transportation services. For information on other transportation services, you may refer to the Yellow Pages under “Disability Services” or “Buses-Charter and Rental.”

Dial-A-Ride Service

This individualized service for area residents offers affordable, reliable, friendly, door to door transportation to help residents to meet their goal of enjoyable independent living.

You may request rides for:

  • Medical
  • Education
  • Social Service
  • Work
  • Groceries
  • Errands

You must be a resident of one of the following communities:

  • Brooklyn Center
  • Crystal
  • Eastern Plymouth (east of 494)
  • Golden Valley
  • New Hope
  • Ramsey County
  • St. Louis Park
  • Washington County

Hours of Operation
Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Note : Medical Insurance Reimbursement Rides and Group Trip/Charter hours may vary according to requests.

Medical Insurance Reimbursed Service
Please contact PRISM (763-529-1252) to see if your medical insurance covers your medical ride.

Group Trip / Charter Service
Call us about our affordable prices for your next group outing or even regularly scheduled group trip needs. PRISM has a variety of vehicles to accommodate the size of your group. Call for additional information and availability (763-529-1252).

Group Trip Rate: $60/hour


Our group trip rate comes with:

  • Fully trained certified driver
  • Door to door assistance if needed
  • Assistance to carry up to 2 average sized packages per rider

Our reservation line is answered Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Please leave a detailed message including:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • The date and time of your appointment
  • Where you are going for your appointment
  • Whether you are a new rider

Scheduling

  • You must schedule a ride at least 3 business days in advance.
  • Our schedule changes each day as we are a general public dial-a-ride service.
  • We may be able to accommodate last minute requests, but only as our schedule permits.
  • Children under the age of 10 ride free and are required to be accompanied by an adult.
  • One business day before your scheduled ride you will receive a phone call confirming your pick-up time for the next day.
  • Be ready 10 minutes before your stated pick-up time.
