Over the weekend of Sept. 16-17, the Marketplace Food Shelf at PRISM lost its freezer. Executive Director Michelle Ness said PRISM was able to move five pallets of food to NEAR and Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners while the freezer was repaired. People and organizations, including the Golden Valley Rotary and First International Bank & Trust, made donations. $7,000 came from Allianz Life alone.
The freezer is functioning again, and on Sept. 28 the nonprofit reported 629 families visiting the food shelf in the week prior.
