Several local cities went to battle over the weekend, but it was all in the name of a good cause.
Golden Valley nonprofit PRISM held a party over the weekend to honor the five-year anniversary of moving into its current building on Zane Avenue.
Part of the celebration included a “Battle of the Cities,” where people could donate food and money and designate which of the five cities surrounding PRISM should receive credit.

PRISM moved into this building at 1220 Zane Ave N in Golden Valley in 2018.
When it was all said and done, Golden Valley came out on top.
“Well it might be because we’re located in Golden Valley, and there’s a little local pride going on,” said PRISM Executive Director Michelle Ness. “We also had engagement from faith communities. So our congregations who are supporting and engaging, they played a part in this as well. So they might’ve had a role in tipping the scales a little.”
