The nonprofit PRISM continues to see more families who need diapers. The nonprofit doesn’t get any discounts purchasing diapers, like it does when purchasing nonperishable food items.
“Over the last couple of months, we’ve been seeing an increased number of families coming into the food shelf, especially families requesting diapers,” said Alisha Olson, PRISM advancement manager.
The nonprofit just finished up a donation drive for diapers and collected 2,021 for the year 2021. The special donation drive was to set the nonprofit up for the year.
“We’re really trying to pull the curtains back and show the broadness that food shelves do in the community,” said Olson. “That it’s not just those pantry staples but we’re doing so much more and people can get involved in more ways than just donating food.”
