PRISM is hosting a “Back to School Success” event Friday, Aug. 18. The nonprofit will be distributing backpacks with school supplies to area families who are struggling to afford them. This is an effort to ensure that all young students are set up for success.
PRISM is asking for donations of quality backpacks, lined paper, calculators, notebooks, pencils and markers. Cash is also accepted. Donations may be given for this event through Friday, Aug. 11. Drop off these items during business hours at PRISM, 1220 Zane Ave. N., Golden Valley.
Families living Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, Crystal, New Hope and Plymouth who could use this help may register their children entering K-12 for school supplies by going to prismmpls.org and clicking on “Celebrating Children.” People can also text 763-308-4890 or email prism.signup@gmail.com. Verification that school-age children are living in one of these five cities will be required.
