The nonprofit PRISM in Golden Valley is preparing to give away as many as 400 backpacks filled with basic school supplies to registered students in need. This year, they still need 10-25 backpacks and say financial donations have helped fill the gap at a time when some school supplies are scarce.
“We know families need high-quality backpacks and that’s what we try to provide. One of the things we found this year is that because of the school supply shortages backpacks are really, really tricky to find,” said Alisha Olson with PRISM.
