Setting our students up for success
PRISM is hosting our annual Back to School Success campaign to support young students and their families to build healthy, stable futures.
The back-to-school season can be a challenging time for families, especially those managing tight budgets. Our goal is to help students start the school year prepared and confident by providing the essential materials they need for success.
Families living in Robbinsdale, New Hope, Crystal, Plymouth, and Golden Valley are eligible to sign up to receive a free backpack filled with school supplies.

How to Register:
Looking for school supplies for your kiddos? PRISM can help! See if you qualify* for this year’s event:
- Children must be entering K-12
- Children must live in your home and must be verified PRIOR to registration (e.g. birth certificates, medical records, social security card, or school enrollment records)
- Must be a resident of Golden Valley, New Hope, Robbinsdale, Crystal, or Plymouth with proof of residency (lease or current bill)

Volunteering at Back to School Success
Help us get ready for our Back-to-School Success program by volunteering to sort, inventory, and prepare school supplies for distribution. This is a great opportunity for small groups to work together and make a direct impact in our community.
We are seeking groups of 6 to 12 volunteers to assist with preparation efforts.
Our preferred volunteer shift is 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, but we are happy to explore other times as schedules allow.
These are the dates we are seeking volunteers for:
- Monday, August 3
- Wednesday, August 5
- Thursday, August 6
- Friday, August 7

Donating to Back to School Success
There are many ways to support our Back-to-School program and help ensure every student starts the year prepared and confident.
Donate Supplies
Help us fill backpacks by donating new, unused school supplies. All donations should be dropped off by Wednesday, August 5.
Fill a Backpack
Commit to filling a backpack with essential school supplies and return it to PRISM by Wednesday, August 5.
Shop Online Registries
Browse PRISM’s Back-to-School registries and purchase the items most needed. Donations can be shipped directly to PRISM, making it an easy and convenient way to give.
Give Financially
Make a direct donation to PRISM and we will purchase the supplies that are needed most, helping us respond to real-time needs.
Host a Backpack Drive or Packing Party
Bring together friends, family, or coworkers to collect supplies or assemble backpacks. It’s a meaningful way to make a group impact. Looking for materials like supply lists? Email jwittak@prismmpls.org for supply lists and flyers.
