PRISM Plans to Give Away 1,000 Turkeys for Thanksgiving — Volunteers Needed

PRISM’s 1K Turkey Giveaway promises to be fun.

If you’re needing something to get you into the holiday spirit, PRISM food shelf has got an event coming up that you can help out with.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the nonprofit will be handing out 1,000 turkeys from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in PRISM’s parking lot in Golden Valley.

“It will be first come, first served. Those who are struggling. People who could use a hand and a little extra food are welcome to come and receive a free turkey as well as sides,” said Michelle Ness, PRISM’s executive director.

The recipients will drive-up in their car to receive the turkeys. Volunteers will be the key helping make it all run smoothly.

“We need volunteers to help pack the bags of sides, as well as on Saturday for the actual distribution,” said Ness.
